Team Matrix Shines at 2009 California Dressage Affaire CDI
Del Mar, California - Team Matrix dominated the winner's circle at the 2009 Dressage Affaire CDI, earning 10 blue ribbons during the three days of competition, held March 13-15. Team members Shannon and Steffen Peters, Sandy Burns-Gardner, Elizabeth Ball and Jennifer Hoffman spent much time collecting ribbons.
On hand to cheer the Team in competition was Matrix Vice President Keith Manfred and Matrix founder Dr. Marvin Hausman. They helped man the Mushroom Matrix booth and played host to the Riders' Party co-sponsored by the Matrix. Manfred earned his own cheers when he noted the growth of dressage in California and the need to continue to support international-level competition.

Team Matrix member Steffen Peters was the clear leader in the number of blue ribbons earned in CDI competition at the event. He earned a total of six blue ribbons and two red. His wins came with Ravel and Orion in Grand Prix competition in which, with both horses, he earned scores in the 70s with the highest being a score of 79.950 in the Grand Prix Freestyle with Ravel. Peters also earned two blue ribbons with Montango in Intermediaire I competition and had both a first and second place finish in Prix St. Georges competition with Sancette.
"All of our team members did fabulous and that's evident by the number of ribbons they won," Manfred said. "Steffen certainly had a fabulous show and we're thrilled with his success and that of all our Team Matrix members. We really have a great group of riders who are part of our team."
Also earning blue ribbons was Team Matrix member Jennifer Hoffman. She and her Matrix partner Farinelli earned two blue ribbons in Intermediaire II competition. Team Matrix member Sandy Burns-Gardner and her Matrix horse Hit Parade SFS took a first place in Fourth Level competition. And Team Matrix member Elizabeth Ball earned a blue ribbon in USEF Developing Horse competition with Soubirous. The pair also had two third place finishes in Prix St. Georges competition. Also busy collecting ribbons during the show was Team Matrix member Shannon Peters. With Flor de Selva, she earned a second place in Prix St. Georges competition and third in Intermediaire I competition.
